Not far from downtown Grand Rapids, the Lowell Public School district is comprised of several elementary schools, a middle school, and high schools. They are also pleased to offer early childhood programs that help to prepare young children as they get ready to enter into kindergarten. Wiggle Worms is a program dedicated to speech development for young children that is used during their early childhood development. Lowell Public Schools also offer a freshman center which is used to help students transition from middle school into high school. They believe students are most successful when they are properly transitioned from one school into the next.

The Lowell State Game Area is a natural area dedicated to preserving green space near local cities. If you enjoy hiking or being outdoors, this is a great place to take your walking shoes. The Englehardt Branch is a local library that is located on the river and creates a great quiet place to read.
