Responsibility, confidence, and resourcefulness are important traits to develop in order to be a successful citizen of the school. At Dickinson Academy, we strive to promote these qualities in our students through purposeful teaching and learning experiences. In the classroom, scholars are encouraged to take risks and think creatively in order to find solutions to problems. Outside of the classroom, they are given opportunities to explore their interests and develop leadership skills. As a result, our scholars become confident young adults who are prepared to make positive contributions to the world around them.

At our school, we believe that strong partnerships between caregivers, the community, and the school are essential for student success. We are proud to offer the Parent Teacher Community Council, which provides an opportunity for all stakeholders to come together and share their ideas and concerns. We also work closely with Kent Schools Services Network, a non-profit organization that provides support and resources to low-income families. In addition, we are a Cultural Center that provides English as a Second Language (ESL) services via our highly skilled, bilingual staff. By offering these services, we are able to provide our students with the best possible education and support.

Our Points of Pride reflect our dedication to preparing scholars for success in college and beyond. Our STEM Green House programming provides hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, while our field trips and experiential learning opportunities help scholars apply what they're learning in the classroom to the real world. We also recognize the importance of cultural competency and celebrate the diversity of our scholars through Cultural Recognition and Spirit Weeks. Our Scholar Leadership groups provide opportunity for personal growth and development, while our Family and Academic Nights help keep families informed and engaged in their scholar's education. Finally, our after school tutoring and social-emotional learning programs ensure that no scholar is left behind.
