Nestled between Gaslight Village and East Hills, the Eastown neighborhood is full of fun things to do and great amenities. Known for being one of the oldest business communities in the Grand Rapids area, Eastown is full of one of a kind shops and locally owned businesses. Volunteer programs are offered through the Eastown Community Association who partner with city officials, nonprofit organizations, and the Grand Rapids Police Department to continue the positive growth of the neighborhood.

Another important part of the Eastown neighborhood is Aquinas College located on the northern portion of the neighborhood. This is a private college that excels in academics and has some great sports teams. Although this campus is small, there are great opportunities for students who attend the college. Nestled in the woods, Aquinas is part of Wilcox Park allowing students to walk through nature while commuting to classes.

Eastown is well known for a great variety of food and dining experience offered to community members and visitors from all over. With infamous restaurants like Wolfgang’s and Yesterdog, there are still many other great restaurants to dine in. Wolfgang’s is the best breakfast in the area, make sure to try one of the famous breakfast skillets. For a new flavored hotdog, stop by Yesterdog and grab one of their originally crafted hotdogs.

If a relaxed atmosphere is more desirable, pizza and craft beer can be found at Harmony Brewing Company. This brewery is sure to help you understand why Grand Rapids is called Beer City USA. For an organic, all natural, and locally made cuisine stop in at the Electric Cheetah.

Visit Darts Donut Shop for a delicious breakfast and a cup of coffee. This coffee shop is a family friendly environment that also offers catering for your events. Just across the street is Early Bird Coffee & Food which has a great outdoor patio and delicious cafe style food.

Antique shops have become a great way to keep a touch of history in your home for years to come. Eastown Antiques is a two story shop that holds more than forty unique vendors that bring the best items to the store. Established in 2004, the Townie Award for Best Antique shop belongs to this particular shop for the last four years.
