GHAPS staff are trained in a program called Capturing Kids’ Hearts ™. This amazing program outlines a process staff can use to help build meaningful connections with students. The goal is to capture kids’ hearts in order to capture their minds. Research shows that when students feel more connected to their school and staff, they achieve higher academic success and are less likely to have attendance, tardy, or behavioral issues. The Capturing Kids’ Hearts ™ program provides a framework for building positive relationships with students, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting academic success. We are confident that this program will have a positive impact on our students and our school community.

This fall, students can expect to see some changes in their classrooms as GHAPS implements a new program designed to encourage students to reach their fullest potential. This program, which has been developed by staff members who have always cared about students, will teach students how to take responsibility for their actions and performance while in school. Additionally, teachers will build better rapport with their students and encourage teamwork, while other staff members will work to create a safe and trusting learning environment. This process is expected to increase students’ willingness to learn and empower them to take charge of their own learning process.
